What’s on your Christmas wishlist for 2011? Yesterday I shared my Gear, Gadgets, and Accessories list. Today we’re in for a workout instead. Tomorrow I’ll be meeting with my fitness personal trainer and setting the goals for health and wellness into the next year. Why wait until January 1? Below you’ll find the items on my list.

Tracking workout effectiveness along with other daily activities is a great idea. The hot gift item this year, [amazon_link id=”B00666ZTN0″ target=”_blank” ]Jawbone UP Band[/amazon_link] is just not getting the reviews that make me want this. From what I’ve heard, many are dissatisfied with the software interface and have had ineffective results of the gear itself. Others have used the [amazon_link id=”B005PUONIK” target=”_blank” ]Fitbit Wireless Activity/Sleep Tracker[/amazon_link] looks good too, but harder to to clip on and not lose. So – I’ll stick with an iPod Nano. Using Runkeeper, I can monitor my walking/hiking route and listen to music. While I’d love a Jawbone UP, I’ll wait until the next revision of both the bracelet and the app are released.

Keeping that iPod Nano on me while in use is made easier when I can wear it as a watch. Pop the Nano into the case and get moving.

[amazon_image id=”B002JQW5VU” link=”true” target=”_blank” size=”medium” ]Marcy VKBS50 50-Pound Kettlebell Weight Set[/amazon_image]
My trainer mentioned the few things that I’ll need to get started. I plan to get a few of these Kettlebells for a variety of activities. I really need to build my strength back up.
[amazon_link id=”B000G2R05A” target=”_blank” ]Bally Total Fitness Pilates Fitness Band[/amazon_link]
[amazon_image id=”B000G2R05A” link=”true” target=”_blank” size=”medium” ]Bally Total Fitness Pilates Fitness Band[/amazon_image]
I love Yoga and Pilates for home workouts. I have a great mat, exercise ball, and foam bricks. I still need to get a stretchy band for resistance activities.
Ariat 4134 Women’s Terrain H2O Copper
[amazon_image id=”B0018DL0G6″ link=”true” target=”_blank” size=”medium” ]Ariat Women’s Terrain Lite Hiker,Destressed Brown,9 M US[/amazon_image]
These boots are great for two of my favorite activities – riding horses and hiking. It beats the sneakers I usually wear.
Chambersburg YMCA Membership
I plan to start my fitness workouts from home, but I will eventually want the full gym membership with the extra perks. As a former competitive swimmer and coach, I will want to do laps and make use of the sauna & steam room. I love classes with others as well.
[amazon_link id=”B001GQ2BI6″ target=”_blank” ]FINIS SwiMP3 v.2 Underwater MP3 Player – One Color One Fits All[/amazon_link]
[amazon_image id=”B001GQ2BI6″ link=”true” target=”_blank” size=”medium” ]FINIS SwiMP3 v.2 Underwater MP3 Player – One Color One Fits All[/amazon_image]
I’m constantly listening to music, audiobooks, and podcasts. I’d love to take that with me to swimming laps. The early versions of this device got mixed reviews, but version 2 seems to be a win.
Fulton Farm CSA Membership
I’m a huge fan of eating fresh, local, organic goodies. My local community supported agriculture is very affordable, and within 2 miles of my home. I’ve been a member for a few years already, and look forward to volunteering there next year again.
Mannatech Supplements
Even eating fresh, local, and organic, the nutritional quality of our foods is still diminishing. The nutrients in our food today is greatly reduced compared to several decades ago. For the added assurance that I’m getting my daily vitamins, minerals, and glyconutrients, I love Mannatech supplements. They don’t use synthetic ingredients in their products, which is a big advantage for me. I find myself more focused, less seasonally affected, and overall healthier when I routinely take my supplements.
